The West Thumb Geyser Basin is located on the south side of the Grand Loop Road and near the Grant Village Visitor Center. What makes this geyser basin so unique is that is right along the edge of Yellowstone Lake. It is a 3/4 of a mile to hike the inner and outer loops of the boardwalk. The inner loop cuts through the central basin and there are many hot springs along this stretch of the boardwalk so be sure not to miss it.
