What Is An Audio Drop-in App? Do They Matter?

Whether it’s Clubhouse or Twitter Spaces, there's no question that audio drop-ins have taken off on some social media platforms.

Why?
👉🏿 Audio drop-in is a very interesting space.

For many moons, we’ve thought we have to always be present by …
… showing our face
… showing our body
… talking on a video camera to communicate one to one.

But audio drop-ins gave us something different and I think that there's something about it that’s going to continue to take off for years to come.

Radio was very popular for many, many years for the same reason that audio drop-ins are now popular.

The same goes for podcasts which have become a great part of culture allowing people to extract a ton of value from them.

We are going to see a lot of value come out of audio drop-in features across Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, and even potentially LinkedIn.

So yes, I am very long on the belief that audio drop-ins will become more common and it’ll be a channel to keep an eye on.
