Exploring Ancient Ruins of Sierra Ancha, Arizona
Ancient ruins dot the American Southwest, many of which can be easily seen by anyone. Some sites, however, are not as easy to access and are seldom visited. One such area is the Sierra Anchan region of central Arizona. A trip there requires four wheel drive with good clearance and back country hiking down non-maintained trails, some of which have contributed to fatalities in recent years. I cracked a rib on a recent trip there, but the objective was well worth it.
