This is a game that I do with children in class and many times they ask me for it, we call it "the game of statues" and it consists of sitting, you can sit in the lotus position, in seiza if you are in a softer place, in a chair, you sit as you like, and it consists of playing statues, not moving. Then you put your hands on your knees or together in the center, as you like. The fact is that for a time nobody has to move anything, nothing, nothing. So someone marks the time, it could be with a meditation video, with music, with a Gong, with clapping. And what we tell the children, so that they don't get distracted, is to close their eyes and count, for example, up to 100 and when they have contacted them to open their eyes, but you don’t have to move anything, nothing and then you ask them : Have you moved? They will say that they could not even move, or they can say: from the sound of the clap or the music until they sound again, nobody moves, it depends on the age of each one and how they do it at home, nothing more. .
SILENCE
They say they relax a lot and it's true. You will be able to make variations and ask what is heard, if it has had any particular sound or simply that they breathe taking air through the nose and letting out slowly through the mouth, as if they were blowing through a straw. Then ask them if they have moved or record the session and then show it to them, use it as a game with a lot of imagination. Still, this is pure Zen meditation, applied in an entertaining and fun way for children. I do not recommend playing music because music can be distracting and it is about doing an inner job, becoming aware of yourself (taking advantage of this wonderful occasion that the coronavirus gives us), but putting on music if you feel like it. I suggest and you adapt it to the way of being of your family, your children and yourselves.
