Finding Regulation Is A PROCESS

Some of us are going to learn to trust ourselves, and that will help us learn to trust others.
Some of us are going to find safe people that help us learn to trust both ourselves and others.
Some of us are going to learn to love ourselves and this will open us up to deeper capacity to love others.
Others of us are going to find that being loved by truly empathetic and caring people help us learn to love ourselves better.
MOST of us are going to experience a mix of the two.
We don’t want to get into the land of superstition thinking that in order to love ourselves we must love others fully, or that if we don’t trust ourselves we will never have the capacity to trust others.
We don’t want to believe that finding safety, trust and love is going to be the exact same path for all of us - because it simply isn’t going to be.
Rather than looking for the ‘rules’ and saying ‘this is how it HAS to be - let’s open to what OUR path is, and make room for others to have THEIR path.
We all learn in different ways and within different contexts. 
Let’s make room for that.
