Damning observations by Pakistan’s 10 judges Supreme Court have put the proverbial last nail in the coffin of a government reference of misconduct against a reputed fellow judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa. Advocate Farogh Naseem who resigned as a lawyer to defend the government’s allegations that the judge had committed misconduct by not disclosing some assets of his wife had no answers to various questions from the court. The head of bench Justice Umer Atta Bandyal observed that the Govt seemed to have had abandoned its original allegations relating to violation of tax laws and was then merely relying on sanctity of the proceedings against the judge started by a disciplinary forum meant for superior court judges.
