How To Post On Craigslist

Today we are going to learn how to post on Craigslist with easy step by step instructions. It is very simple and really just takes a couple of minutes.

What you want to do before your go to the Craigslist login page is to figure out what you want to sell and then write up an ad for it already in a notepad or word processor so you don't waste time. Then you can just copy and paste into the ad form that we are going to look at in a minute.

Let's go to the Craigslist main page at the click on account to go to the craigslist login page. When you get there you put in your email address and your password. Now this is for people who already have a craigslist account, so if you don't have an account yet, you will have to sign up to get one, which we will cover how to do that in another video.

So you then log in to Craigslist and you will see your account page. And then you have to click where it says New Posting In, and it will already default to your current closest location Craigslist page. You then click go. It then asks you what type of post it is. This will be a for sale by owner post. Click that, then click cars and trucks and you will get this ad form.

I just want people contacting me by email so I leave the by phone selection unchecked.

Put in a contact name, put in an ad title and make sure this is very descriptive of what you are selling because it will help people find your car of whatever it is they are looking for. Just think about how you would search for a car and then make a title that would help you find that item.

Then paste in your price for the item, your location and the zip code. Then paste in your ad and other pertinent information about your car or the item you are selling.

Then you can click this button to create a map and you would put in your address, but I would rather talk to someone first for an expensive items such as a car because I personally want to talk to the person first and wouldn't want just anyone coming around looking for my car maybe when I wan't home.

Click continue and then click edit image so you can post your images with your Craigslist ad. I'm of the belief that no matter what you are selling, you need to post images with it. Image sell and good image sell better. Don't make the mistake of posting crummy images of your car or furniture or jewelry. If you do that, post crummy images, that could actually turn off potential buyers. Make sure you post images and post good ones.

So click edit images and choose your images on your computer. You can choose up to 24 images so you have a lot of things you can do here. Then click done with images and the next thing you need to do is click Publish and your Craigslist ad then goes live.
