Sublimating on Laminated Wood Letters

Disclaimer: I am also a beginner myself :) I have only done this a few times and this is just how I have learned to do it through my trials/errors.

This is a step by step video tutorial on how to sublimate on laminated wooden letters.

Steps:
1 - Tear/split the laminating pouch in half and now you have two sheets to use per pouch.
2 - Butcher paper down, letter, then place the laminate sheet matte side face down, shiny side up. Layer another butcher paper.
3 - Press for 385 degrees for 10-60 seconds. (Read below why)
- For these letters specifically from Hobby Lobby: they already come pre-coated white and I think the coating causes it to scorch faster so with these, I personally do 10-20 seconds for the laminating.
- Other wood letters that you plan to paint white, I would do 385 for 45-60 seconds.
- While still hot, use an old credit card or whatever else to rub/smooth down any bubbles
- Let cool.
- I print out my design as a full sheet pretty much making sure it’s a little larger than the letter rather than try to manipulate the design to the exact letter if that makes sense.
- Sub the design onto the laminated letter for 385 degrees 45- 60 seconds.
- Let cool again and then use the X-taco knife to cut around the edges.
- Optional: the extra cut outs are from scrapbook kits and stickers. I used crafters tape to place them.
