In this tutorial, I take you through the details of uploading several CSV files from a Source folder and Using SSIS, each file is transferred to SQL Server one by one.

As each file is uploaded to SQL server it is then copied to a "Processed" folder and removed from the source folder.

This mirrors an actual production process where a different department might export data as part of a general process and you want an SSIS process to pick up these files, load them to SQL server and then clear them out of the source data folder.

I cover using the Foreach Loop Counter in Visual Studio SSIS, Variables, data flow task, Flat File Source connection Manager, OLE DB Destination and configuring all of those items.

If your an Excel VBA or Access wiz you may wonder why you need to use SQL Server Integration Services to load data to the database, but the answer is simply that in large organisations if you want to have a process that runs automatically you have to use SSIS because security protocols make doing this on an end user login difficult.
