Unloading Wood Kiln #1

This kiln unloading happened in October 2019. That time of year is busy for me without building and firing a brand new huge wood kiln. I didn't get around to making this video last year and had so many ideas for videos this year so far that I am just now getting to it.

Thank you all so much for your support during this project! I challenged myself in May of 2019 to finish building that kiln and fire it by the end of September of that year. I only missed that deadline by about a month. That's not bad in my opinion because it was such a massive undertaking.

I had so many different emotions at the time of unloading that I may not seem thrilled about some of the pieces coming out but it was a combination of high expectations, exhaustion, and nervousness. I am very thankful for how everything turned out even if many pieces didn't look as expected. But that is one of the great aspects to wood firing ... you can only control so much of the outcome.
