Technics SU-V909 Common No Sound Fault

Please note that there are numerous things that can cause an amplifier to have a no output fault. However, I found this particular issue to be most common to this amp.

What to look for prior to going this route: Unit powers up, no click on speakers relay, and no "computer drive new class A" lights.

If your symptoms look like the description above, you will have to download the schematic diagram from HiFi Engine or other to follow along with the video to troubleshoot the issue.

Due to the location of the PCB, it is easy to shunt a resistor on the backplane if you are careful. After all measurements, I have opted to go with a 27 ohm resistor because that was the closest one to the measured resistance of the lamp in my possession. However, if you can locate the original part, you can replace it open lamp. In addition, it's solely up to you if you are going to leave the resistor in place if it corrected the problem, I did.

I hope you will find this post helpful. Thanks for viewing.
