Airport Road Lament 'A6MARR'
A new road to be driven through the surviving green belt countryside south of Stockport to serve Manchester Airport, impinging upon the ancient woodland of Carr Wood, near High Lane. These pictures show the peaceful woodland and nearby areas in 2013/14 before the start of work, accompanied by a favourite song of ours, 'St Ives End Lane' by Robb Johnson from his fine 1995 album 'The Night Cafe'.
