GE Side by Side Evaporator Motor Replacement Symptoms: Freezer not getting cold. Refrigerator warm.

PLEASE READ BEFORE REPLACING PART.

My 17 year old GE Side by side evaporator motor (inside freezer) finally gave out. I replaced it with an Amazon motor and it worked fine afterwards.

in my case, my control board also went out along with my evaporator motor but with your luck, I'm sure it will only be the actual motor itself. Either way, I had to cut the wires and match the colors to use the same connector that my old motor went to.

(if you want to test your motor first, connect the red and the yellow together + and then connect the white - to a battery source at 9.75V and you should see if the motor is bad. if it still runs, then your control board will most likely be the issue.
