Recipe || PuertoRican Sponge Cake Soaked With Almond Syrup (Version 2) // MIGHTY FLAVORS

Puerto Rican sponge moist cake with almond syrup

❖INGREDIENTS:
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites
3 cups self-rising flour
1 cup butter
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons almond extract
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups of sugar

❖PROCESS:
1. Cream the butter a few seconds
2. Add the sugar little by little
3. Add the eggs one by one
4. Add extracts
5. Switch between flour and milk and make sure everything is well mixed
6. In a clean, dry container, whisk the egg whites for 5 to 7 minutes to the point of snow
7. Add to the first mixture and mix in a encircling and squishing way
8. Grease and fill the mold
(Used cake pans 7 ", 6", 5 ", 4")
9. Bake at 350 ° F for 40-50 minutes
10. Allow to cool and pour the syrup
