Opening range breakout trade. Let's look at the opening range breakout trading strategy. This one is specifically for stocks that have gapped. Supply/demand has shifted because the market has gapped and we want to know how to trade that. This is a simple way of potentially getting onto an explosive move. A gap generally brings in other timeframes and other participants and bigger money. So there is opportunity for us smaller traders to capitalise on this if only we can pick the direction right! OK.

How to Understand and Use Opening Range Breakout Strategy
The rules are very similar to the traditional breakout trade - in this instance we take the first 15 minutes, and for these 15 minutes we plot the high and the low. Now what you do is place an order to go long above the high and an order to go short below the low. The range of that candle is going to be our stop.
