Whatever the reasons, in this video we are going to be talking about how to make your own ghillie suit.

In this video, I meet up with my friend Kaleb, and we chat about how to make a $30 ghillie suit yourself from scratch, which is definitely a budget way to do it, but also a good practice in sourcing your own materials. It’s actually much easier than you might think.

And stay to the end because we are going to add some general discussion about camouflage and low presence for some practical purposes and also as an element of what we call “ready culture."

We will also touch on the fascinating ancestral land-based tradition the Ghillie suit originates from. In Gaelic, it originates from the Celtic Mythology of the Ghillie Dubh, a "dark lad" or faery clothed in leaves and moss, who lived in a birch wood within the Gairloch and Loch a Druing area of the north-west Highlands of Scotland.
