Simple test to identify the high voltage 115V primary leads of a scrapped old UPS transformer

Here in this video we talk a bit of information about UPS transformers. The transformers I have shown in this video were obtained from APC & Tripplite brands. These UPS transformers have very high current capabilities ranging from 15-20 Amps for a small transformer from a 300VA unit to 60-70Amps for a 1700VA unit transformer. For transformers from even bigger units they can supply even larger currents. This makes then very useful for high current 12V bench supplies or making car/truck heavy duty chargers.

There is a very simple way to identify the transformers with multiple primary wires on these transformers. Testing method to identify high voltage leads of the transformer starts at 6:40
