This video show how a Gear Pump works. External gear pump working animation. In this video we are going to see how external gear pump works. Suction and delivery of this type of pump occurs due to the change in volume of the pump. As shown in the video the gear pump has two gears, driving gear and driven gear. The driving gear gets its drive from the Engine and the driven gear is getting its drive from the driving gear.
The fluid is been trapped in between the gap if the gear teeth and the casing and gets carried to the outlet and not through the engaging portion of the two gears.
