4K Sydney Trams at Circular Quay - Modern Trams with some history.

Welcome to Schony747 on Saturday. In the next video from from the Sydney Light Rail, I revisit Circular Quay. Line L3 opened fully in April 2020 which replaced the short working to Central Chalmers St.

Circular Quay has always been associated with trams and some of the information titles in the video discuss that. Trams at Circular Quay finished in 1957 and 1958. The original tram system gradually closed and finally finished in 1961.

It wasn't until December 2019 that trams finally made it back to Circular Quay. These days modern trams dominate the scene - The Alstom Citadis X5 305 trams coupled together forming 67 metre sets. Trams also use the Alstom APC in ground power supply removing the need for ugly overhead, pantographs and associated infrastructure.
