I make do a typographic breakdown and meta-analysis on 90 top memes from Reddit. What can we learn from how fonts are used in memes?

We all have a stereotype of what font is used for memes: Impact. But does that still hold true in 2020? What fonts are most popular and what does that say about the modern state of memery?

Memes are vernacular typography, and so they can tell us a lot about how normal, non-designers use type. Also briefly mentioned are these automated font recognition tools if you want to try identifying suspicious fonts for yourself!
