The Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol or “The Great Pagoda” is one of the largest chedis (pagoda) in Thailand. It is in the Nong Phok District of Roi et in Thailand. this chedi is 101 m tall, 101 m wide and 101 m long. The temple complex is built on top of a hill overlooking the surroundings on a 40 acre area. it is believed that some relics of buddha are preserved in this temple.
the temple is a 5 storied building and after that there is a serpentine staircase to the top.
Nong Phok district is around 70 km from Roi et city and 65 km from Mukdahan province.
the entrance to the temple is free and it is open from early morning 6 till 5 in the evening.
