Textured Towels

Creating floats with a pick-up stick on a rigid heddle loom.
With your heddle in the DOWN position, and your PICK-UP STICK placed BEHIND your reed, pick up every other thread across the entire row.
Weave a row in the Down position, then weave rows 1-to 4 as described below:
Row 1. With your reed in the UP position, slide your PICK-UP STICK forward so that it is resting against the back of your reed and weave across the row.
Row 2. With your reed in the DOWN position, weave across the row.
Row 3. With your reed in the UP position, weave across the row (Do not use your pick-up stick in this row).
Row 4. With your reed in the DOWN position, weave across the row.
** Continue weaving by repeating rows 1 to 4
