Lovebirds Meal Time - Sunday Morning, December 12th, 2021

There are several lovebird chicks that hatch in this aviary. We try to provide a variety of vegetables so that the mother has more nutritional options to feed the chicks.

The grains we give them are white millet, canary seeds, grain seeds, whole wheat seeds and buckwheat. While the vegetables there are chicory, mustard greens, kale leaves, lettuce and carrots. All vegetables are raw without being cooked first. For carrots, we cut them into thin strips to make it easy for the birds to eat them. We also cut the vegetables into small pieces. Because if it is in large pieces, the mother lovebird will bring it into the nest, and it is bad if the vegetables rot in the nest.
