Father’s Day is just around the corner. Can you believe it? When I thought of what to make to honour all the dads out there, I thought of Dad’s favourite things... Some peace and quiet, a newspaper, and a CUP OF COFFEE! So I took the traditional café au lait and turned it into the ultimate CAKÉ AU LAIT! I may have taken this #DadCake to the next level with the amount of coffee-related snacks and goodies stacked into it, but it was so worth it.

Vanilla and chocolate cakes layered with vanilla, chocolate, and COFFEE buttercream with cookies, halved doughnuts, chocolate covered ESPRESSO BEANS and crushed coffee crisp in between. I topped the whole thing off with my delicious 7-minute frosting and a giant cookie. IT. WAS. DELICIOUS.

Buttercream (Vanilla, Chocolate and COFFEE)
Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 dozen of your dad’s favourite doughnuts, sliced horizontally
3 Coffee Crisp bars, chopped
1/2 cup dark chocolate covered espresso beans, chopped
Instant coffee (for buttercream)
4oz semi sweet chocolate
Cocoa shavings (optional)
