In a big, green forest, there was a bear named Benny. Benny was big and fluffy, but he had one little problem—he was very lazy!

While the other animals played, worked, and gathered food, Benny just sighed and said, “I’ll do it later.” The squirrels picked nuts, the rabbits gathered carrots, and the birds built warm nests, but Benny only stretched and lay in the sun.

One day, Benny’s friend, Sally the Squirrel, said, “Benny, winter is coming! You need to gather food.”
But Benny shook his head. “I’ll do it tomorrow,” he said.

Then Ricky the Rabbit said, “Benny, it’s getting colder! You need to find a warm place.”
But Benny just smiled. “I have time,” he said.

But time passed quickly, and soon, winter arrived! Snow covered the trees, the rivers turned to ice, and the wind blew cold. Benny woke up shivering. He was hungry, but there was no food!

He went to Sally the Squirrel and said, “Can I have some nuts?”
Sally shook her head. “I worked hard to collect these. You should have done the same, Benny!”

Then he went to Ricky the Rabbit. “Can I have some carrots?”
Ricky sighed. “I only have enough for my family, Benny. Next time, don’t be so lazy!”

Benny felt sad and learned an important lesson: Hard work today helps you tomorrow.

So, when spring came, Benny changed! He helped the squirrels collect nuts, the rabbits gather food, and the birds build warm nests. He still had time to play, but he worked first!

When winter returned, Benny was ready! He had food, a warm place to sleep, and he wasn’t cold or hungry anymore.
