Extraordinary Custom Shoe Storage Bench | The Draper Bench

A friend of mine called looking for a custom shoe storage bench for his entryway that had to have a couple of unique features...

It needed to be able to:
✔️ Store shoes.
✔️ Store more shoes.
✔️ Charge a phone.
✔️ Plug in the vacuum.
✔️ Sit on it and be able to put on said shoes.
✔️ Probably stash beef jerky in it as well... I don't know.

So, I set out designing this piece to have a flip out door, initially with shelves to store shoes, but since there was not enough depth to work with, my client suggested mounting a door-hanger-shoe-storage-thing to the door to store them.

Did a boatload of troubleshooting on this one (this is where woodworking meets programming) to come up with the final solution, but learned a lot along the way.
