Simon Mair: The Future of Work
A lot has been written and said on how corona will shape working life. Beyond the ushering in of the age of Zoom, there is a deeper conversation about how our society conceptualises work. Simon Mair is an ecological economist whose research has revolved around trying to understand the current economy in order to build a better one, and his interests include the history of economic thought and utopian economics.
We touched upon the different responses that Simon Mair outlines as a reaction towards Covid-19: State capitalism, Barbarism, State Socialism, and Mutual Aid. The world will not be the same after COVID-19, but this podcast tried to offer at least a small glimpse of what that world may look like.
