Returning for its second iteration is iNcog's Empire Cup! The first weekend of July will see the reprise of the tournament of surprises, which last time saw a rather unfamiliar coterie of players reach the Day 2 events. Held earlier this March, the first Empire Cup saw semi-finalists snowww and SomppuKunkku put up stellar performances, culminating in iamturk taking the crown in a nailbiting Best-of-7 series with runner-up KINGofOsmane that ended up going to match point. Generously sponsored by the donations received during last event's stream, Empire Cup 2 has a $500 bounty tied to it..

The tournament rules will largely be the same as the the first iteration, with the veto rules scrapped.

— Upon sign-up, you are asked to pick a "Premier Civilization". This had better be your best one, because you will be using this civilization for the first game of every single series played. This counts all the way from the Ro128 to the Finals. The clever among you will note that the earlier rounds of this cup are Best-of-1s. Indeed, your premier civilization will be used for that portion of the Cup as well.
