Attempting Fine Art Photography at midnight

A couple of weeks ago I headed out to New Brighton Lighthouse in the pursuit of creating a few seascape images. There was a catch however, it was at midnight. Without stating the obvious but it was dark, very dark! On top of that, it was during the first of this years spring tides.

My challenge and thought process...
I wanted to create a couple of fine art seascape images during the spring tide. The high tide was either at midnight or midday! The middle of the afternoon was out of the question because I knew the beach would be packed with daytrippers. Besides, who wants to take photos during the day?

Photographing at midnight isn't as straight forward as you might think. It's difficult to see and focus plus it's a little scary!

Anyways, being the trooper I am I headed there and gave it my best shot.
