Lotus Esprit Body Comes Off, Phase 1 Complete! Part 3 From Lucore Automotive
We knew this was going to be a complicated frustrating process to when we took on this Lotus Esprit 4S project for Tim's Enthusiast Garage but I don't think ANY of us foresaw this. What initially seemed to be a "few hours" process has turned into a multiple month, 100+ hour tear down as we separate the carbon composite body from the lotus racing inspired chassis.
As a hot rod shop we are much more well known for the American muscle cars we work on and classic cars, 50s 60s and 70s stuff that turns heads and gets the Old School blood pumping. Those cars, and indeed most NEW cars are built on an assembly line with an eye for ease of assembly and disassembly. Lotus however, did things a BIT different! Throughout the first 2 videos in this series you saw us battle hard to get to bolts, rusted/corroded/destroyed nuts and bolts, and that story continues here with the addition of trying to find interestingly placed pieces.
Eventually though with some good old fashioned grit and determination we finally succeeded in this Phase 1 of the Lotus Esprit Restoration or as we call it "Resurrection"! The scope of this project has rapidly changed from a Lotus Esprit Rebuild to a Lotus Esprit BUILD complete with new wheels, tires, suspension, brakes, interior, engine work, exhaust... this will be about as close to a 2020-2021 Lotus Esprit as we can make it!
Lucore Automotive is a small independent american small business located just outside Columbus Ohio. While we are a full service shop that maintains and repairs countless daily drivers we are also well known for our work on classics, race cars, and collector cars.
We would like to thank all of our friends, fans, follower, supporters, subscribers, and most importantly customers for being here with us! Without the wonderful people who let us work on their toys, and help their dreams come true we wouldn't be in business!
