Leather Valentine’s Earrings | How to Cut Leather and Faux Leather with a Cricut

In this DIY Valentine's Day earrings tutorial, I'll share just how easy it is to make DIY earrings with a Cricut Machine. It's easy to cut leather, faux leather, and cork on a Cricut machine. You can actually cut it on the old Cricut Explore, the Cricut Air 2, and the newest machine, the Cricut Maker. You can cut cork, faux suede and faux leather with the normal fine tip blade that comes with all of the machines and by using the standard grip green mat. To cut real leather, you do need to change out the blade to the deep cut blade and you'll need to use the strong grip purple mat. It is really easy and fast to switch out the blades in a Cricut machine, no matter which one you have.

In this Cricut tutorial, I'll share how to use a heart teardrop earring SVG to make heart iron on earrings. I'll show how to use the Contour function to convert a heart cut-out earring to a heart iron on earring. There are so many great heat transfer vinyls available now. At Valentine's Day I love to use all of the different glitter heat transfer vinyls and the holographic heat transfer vinyls. They just add extra shine to Valentine's Day earrings.

I also show how I glue faux leather teardrops together (back to back) so that the back side of the Valentine's earring looks as good as the front side of the diy earring.
