Valveless Pulse Jet Cycle Animation

Here is an animation of the basics of what goes on inside a valveless pulse jet engine.

At the start cold air is blown into the engine where it mixes with fuel. This fuel mixture burns rapidly, expanding out both the intake and exhaust pipe of the engine. The gas shoots out of the engine so fast that it leaves a vacuum behind it, and atmospheric pressure forces more air back into the engine, mixing with more fuel, and hot exhaust still trapped inside the engine lights the new fuel mixture and begins the cycle all over again.

This happens very quickly, about 150 times a second for a medium size engine.
