Kayaking a Flash Flood near Zion National Park on the Virgin River

Kayaking during a flash flood near Zion National Park! I got a solo PFD down the flooded Virgin River Gorge just outside the park. The Virgin River went from summer time flows of 50 CFS to over 2000 CFS within a couple of hours due to some strong monsoon storms that rolled through. The headwaters saw 3+ inches of the rain in less than 2 hours which forced the closure of the national park.
