What to do if you get stuck halfway through writing your novel. #nanowrimo

It's easy to lose motivation or enthusiasm as you get deeper into your novel. Nanowrimo's hard deadline sometimes forces you to keep writing, even if you know all the words are useless until you figure out your story. So in this video, I'm showing you my raw, hot mess of a partial rough draft - and giving you three steps to get unstuck and continue making progress on your novel.

MAIN TAKEAWAY: you don't always have to be writing. Sometimes, you're digging holes or shoveling dirty. You're hewing the rough shape out of the wilderness, discovering your story. It's hard to see the big picture once you're deep in the weeds. So take a big step back to survey the landscape, or start cleaning up what you've got so you can see the ending more clearly.

I'm 2/3rds into November and my nanowrimo project is past 90,000 words - but it's a rough hot mess of garbage. Some of the scenes are fleshed out; many of them are skipped over, and there's probably 20,000 words of notes to cut.
