Biden's Cabinet | QT Politics
Joe Biden's Cabinet picks gives us keen insight into the policy decisions the new president will make. This video covers his inner cabinet: likely to be the most influential advisors in the Biden Administration. These include: VP Kamala Harris; Secretary of State Antony Blinken; Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin; Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen; and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
The Cabinet of the United States is a body of top executive branch officials, who serve at the pleasure of the President. Their role is to advise the POTUS on all matters relating to their respective duties.
The cabinet consists of the vice president and the heads of 15 executive departments: Agriculture; Commerce; Defence; Education; Energy; Health and Human Services; Homeland Security; Housing and Urban Development; Interior; Justice Labor; State; Transportation; Treasury; and Veteran Affairs.
There are also other high-ranking positions that are considered to be Cabinet-level, although these can vary depending on the president: White House Chief of Staff; Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency; Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy; Administrator of the Small Business Administration; Chair of the Council of Economic Advisors; Ambassador to the United Nations; United States Trade Representative; Director of National Intelligence; and Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
All told, that’s 24 different people, all considered to be top advisors for the president. But who among them are the most influential? Arguably, the most essential are the Vice President, and the members of the so-called inner cabinet, the four original Cabinet positions, which are the secretaries of state, treasury, and defence, as well as the attorney general.
In this video, I’m going to talk about them. So, let’s get into it.
