Cilium, a powerful eBPF-based networking and security solution, combined with Kyverno, a Kubernetes-native policy engine, provides a robust framework for enforcing security, observability, and compliance within clusters. This session explores how Cilium enhances network security through identity-aware policies, transparent encryption, and deep observability, while Kyverno ensures governance by enforcing best practices, compliance rules, and automated policy-driven security controls. We will quickly go through various real-world use cases demonstrating best practices for integrating both tool-sets that enhance cluster security with acceptable trade-offs in usability.
