The Dhārā Residency explored Jamdani weaving as both heritage and contemporary art, beginning in Dhaka with “Loomscape” at Shala Neighbourhood Arts Space (Feb 14-15). Co-funded by the Goethe-Institut the exhibition brought together master weavers and artists to reinterpret Jamdani’s cultural significance. “Loomscape” is curated by Mahenaz Chowdhury & Samira Syed.

In Berlin (March 7-9), at Subkontinent, the residency expanded through hands-on workshops, integrating digital media, filmmaking, and printmaking with Jamdani techniques. Organized by Dhārā residency, the event fostered artistic dialogue and immersive engagement.

Co funded by the Visual Arts Project Fund of the Goethe-Institut, Broqué and Berkudim. This initiative connected tradition with innovation, ensuring Jamdani’s evolving artistic relevance.
