Lumwana Copper Mine Zambia - Truck Trolley System and Gearless Mill Drives by Siemens

The Truck Trolley System helps deliver copper ore in the form of rock particles in the open pit to the crushing/conveyor system. The gearless mill drives for the primary and secondary milling receive the ore after the crushing process and reduced sizes. Both systems were engineered and installed by Siemens at the Lumwana copper mine in the North-western province of Zambia. Lumwana copper mine is one of the largest open-pit mines in Zambia and Africa. The two systems help increase speed and productivity, reduce fuel consumption, maintenance requirements, and significant energy consumption during the entire mining process to produce copper concentrate.
