In 1967, Craig Tschetter enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at 18, served 20 months as a combat radio operator in the Vietnam War and finished as a drill instructor in San Diego. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to South Dakota and launched a career in the funeral service industry.
