7 Things Successful People Do Before 9 a.m.

After doing some research into the morning habits of people who inspire me, I've been trying to implement these seven things that successful people do before 9 a.m. into my morning routine. When I'm able to do a few of these things each morning, I'm ready to tackle the day!

1:21 - Don't hit the snooze button
1:51 - Don't use your phone right away
2:20 - Drink water before caffeine
2:55 - Be mindful and set your intentions
3:30 - Bring meditation into your routine
4:29 - Always eat breakfast
4:56 - Make a prioritized list

- When your alarm goes up, don't hit the snooze button — allowing yourself to go back to sleep confuses the body and the brain, resulting in a groggy, foggy feeling
- Waking up at the same time every single day helps set your internal clock, making it easier to get out of bed
- Don't reach for your phone as soon as you get out of bed — seeing emails, social media and news bombards your brain with so much information that doesn't put you in a positive state of mind
- Put your phone on airplane mode before you go to sleep, and don't turn it off until you are ready to start your work day
- Instead of reaching for caffeine right away, drink water when you first wake up to help with rehydration and good digestion — add some lemon for flavour and added vitamin C
- Take 10-15 minutes to journal in a quiet space and set your intentions for the day
- Bring meditation into your morning routine by listening to a meditation app while doing your hair and makeup and getting
- Eating breakfast is very important as it boosts your metabolism, keeps your blood sugar levels stable, and reduces cravings and overeating later in the day
- Create a short prioritized list with the three most important things you need to work on — don't overwhelm yourself with a huge list of tasks
- It takes time to start implementing a healthy and productive morning routine, so be patient as you start to add these habits into your lifestyle
