New rooftop soccer field opens at UCCS

The Alpine Parking Garage and Field at UCCS opened Monday.

The field is on the western edge of campus, near the intersection of Austin Bluffs Parkway and Stanton Road.

Two soccer fields intended for recreational and intramural sports sit on top of more than 1,200 parking spaces.

The whole thing cost about $23 million. It opens just in time for fall semester, which begins August 25.
