»Plastic Riot« is the second single from the upcoming album »The Refuge« by Berlin-based electronica duo »AFAR«. Rough pop between technoid elements and Elena's powerful, albeit dystopian tender voice. An ironic hymn to the brave new world, love beneath halogen tubes and above PVC floors. A track that is in stark contrast to its origin: in February, the two had retreated to the Pyrenees for the recording session. Isolated from the rest of the world, »The Refuge« was created here in four winter weeks, an album between self-reference and artistic liberation. Unusual and honest.
