BMW E39 M5, 540i Fan / Fan Clutch DIY

The fan clutch keeps the engine fan's RPM lower as the engine RPM increases. A failing fan clutch can lead to a fan that just spins at the engine RPM, making your car sound like a school bus when you accelerate. If your fan has aged too, it is possible that a blade can brake off and penetrate your vehicle's hood.
