The Leonardo AW169 is a versatile light-intermediate twin-engine helicopter that represents the latest technological evolution in the AWFamily, sitting between the AW109 and the larger AW139. Designed to meet the most stringent modern safety standards, it features a crashworthy airframe and an advanced variable-speed main rotor system that reduces external noise while increasing aerodynamic efficiency. One of its most distinctive features is the auxiliary power unit (APU) mode, which allows the left engine to provide electrical and hydraulic power to the cabin and avionics while the rotors remain stationary.

Powered by twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW210A1 turboshafts with dual-channel FADEC, the AW169 excels in "hot and high" conditions and demanding offshore environments.
