DSLR scanning / camera scanning with the PIXL-LATR, digitising your negatives with a film holder

I've been asked a few times about how I scan my negatives, and I've always sort of avoided the question, basically because I was a little ashamed that I was really doing it all in the most lo-fi basic way - holding my negatives down on a light panel and hitting the shutter button on my digital camera...
But Hamish Gill, of 35mmc.com fame, gave me one of his pill-latr negative holders to try, so what the hell, here's my negative scanning set up!
The pixl-latr, which you can find at https://www.pixl-latr.com is actually great! I say 'actually' great, because I have to say I had reservations. I didn't fully believe that I needed another piece of kit to add to my already fairly full kit box.
I tried the Lomography Digitaliza a while back, and I really didn't get along with it. I found it slow and cumbersome, difficult to use and it really slowed me down. And I am incredibly impatient, so things that slow me down don't last long.
But... the pixl-latr was a revelation! It actually speeds up my workflow. Now how long has it been since you saw a gadget that did that?? It's been quite a while for me.
Anyway, take a look at the video, let me know what you think, and drop me a comment with any questions!
