3 YEARS to Break a World Record: Was It Worth It?
I spent 3 years of my life breaking the Guinness World Record for the Youngest Person to Travel to Every Country. I broke the previous world record, which had only been held by men, by over 3 years! Traveling to 196 countries was an incredible experience and I feel immensely grateful for the opportunity to do so at my age.
There were so many ups and downs along the way and one of the hardest aspects of breaking this record wasn't even related to travel, it was the evidence required to prove that I had traveled to every county!
6 full months of intense organization after years of procrastination, I was able to submit nearly 7,000 pages of documentation in chronological order to Guinness World Records. I thought I had done everything by the book until I received an email that added 100 days onto my record...
In the end, I broke the Guinness World Record at 21 years old and I was invited to celebrate the accomplishment on the today show in New York City. This was by far the biggest challenge I have ever undertaken & it still feels surreal that I finally completed it and can share it with you guys!
