Lehigh Line, Trenton Line, and the URHS Move, Aimless Railfanning, October 2014

I spent most of October out in Three Bridges New Jersey on the NS Lehigh Line, where I would stop on my way home from school on Tuesday and Thursdays of every week. I also took many trips to the middle part of the CSX Trenton Line, near hopewell and the such. Even got a little Septa into this months video. To end the video, we find ourselves on the NJT Boonton Line, where we watch the ever so awaited URHS move of the last surviving U34CH. Please enjoy, as the Fall colors began to set in.

We start our Monthly Montage at Three Bridges. Straight out of Class, I head to the tracks, and meet up with the my good friend Nick.

NS 11J is the first of the morning trains to get west past the Signal at MP48.5 on the Lehigh Line. Colorful Fakefonnet 681 is in the trailing Position.

I begin to make my way east to head home and attempt a new shot I have always wanted to shoot. From far away, NS 212 makes its way out of the trees, and through Neshanic on the old Lehigh Valley Bridge. 212 is sporting 3 Yellow 70M's for power.

Later in the week, again after leaving class, I am back in Three bridges. NS 21M, the westbound intermodal hotshot train to Chicago is first through the gates.

After 21M was clear of the 51-53 siding, NS 22V, the eastbound international Container train to North Jersey trundles through, on this beautiful day.

Instead of heading straight home, I take a detour through the rolling hills, and over the sourland mountains, to Hopewell, where I come across CSX C770 returning with empty tank cars from Rickett Coleman.

CSX GP40-2 #4408
CSX GP38-2 #2788

After a quick run in with my Friend John, we decide to adventure a little, and we end up across the PA/NJ border to shoot some Septa Trains.

We watch as a set of Silverline V's and a set of Silverliner IV's head to Philly in the early afternoon.

The following week, More railfanning at 3 Bridges had presumed. Again, starting the morning off with NS 21M, sporting GE's for power.

Later in the week, we make a quick stop by Bound Brook, to shoot a CSX Q438 on its way east. In the 3rd slot for power, one of the Ex-Conrail derated SD50's for MOW service is along for the ride.

With each clear signal, and every day of class, another day of buffing Three bridges was upon us, and another 21M, sporing an EMD leader was the days gifts.

We then make our way back over the the Lehigh line, as the rain began to fall upon us. NS 65K runs west through the Auten Crossing, with 2 CSX Widecabs, and a NS SD40E stolen of the slopes for power. The power would later be Wye'd in Reading, for the Cab-signal qualified leader to take the train through Harrisburg.

A couple days after the rain cleared, I had just enough time to shoot westbound CSX Q417 at Sunnymead, before heading into work.

The following day, I was back out west after my morning class at Rocka-fellow-Mills Road. NS 22V is riding the Greens, not having to wait in the siding for any westbounds this morning.

NS C40-9W #9664
NS SD60 #6608

I again, ran into John this day, and made my way over to CSX to shoot a duo of eastbounds, as they knocked down the Automatic at MP 45 on the Trenton Line, also known as Hollow Road. The first of the 2 is CSX Q190.

CSX C40-8W #7306
