Manager Feedback: The Missing Link in Employee Engagement

Let’s talk about something that's often overlooked but crucial—manager feedback and more importantly, reverse feedback.
Too often, we promote people into managerial roles without truly equipping them to lead people. We hand them a team of 10 to 15 individuals and expect them to manage daily operations, conduct meaningful 1:1s, provide regular and constructive feedback, and also think strategically. That’s a lot.
But here's the real challenge:
If I'm managing a team and I'm not receiving feedback from them, I could be doing something exceptional and not know it—or worse, doing something ineffective and remain unaware.
This is where reverse feedback becomes a game-changer.
✔️ It builds self-awareness for managers
✔️ It encourages accountability from both sides
✔️ It bridges the gap between perception and ground reality
✔️ It fosters trust, transparency, and continuous improvement

We need to create a feedback culture where managers feel safe asking, “How am I doing?” and teams feel empowered to answer honestly.

🎯 So whether you're in HR, a business leader, or a manager—don’t wait. Build the feedback loop. Seek feedback. Coach your managers. Mentor them into people leaders.

Because engaged teams don’t just happen—they're nurtured by managers who listen, learn, and lead with intent. 💡
