Sheep Shearing w. hand shears ~ I am not a robot

Shearing my Icelandic ewe with hand shears. Much nicer than w/electric shears, more reliable, calmer, & just as fast. The electric shears were one of the only motorized machines that I generally use other than the pump from the well for water. Tires for the horse & pony cart can still be a challenge, but at least they don't have many parts. I've attempted to video myself shearing in years past, but there's always mechanical failure & I end up spending most of the time trying to get the darned shears to even run properly. This way, I am able to sharpen the scissor blade by myself, even in the middle of shearing if I run into a dirt spot that needs dagging. I normally have to send off the blades to get sharpened, & then it ends up that just selling the wool in today's market would pay for my hourly wage. This way anything I make off of the fleece is profit, b/c at least I'm not paying to shear my own sheep. Alpacas are next.
