The Five Phases of Creativity

Everyone has a different perspective on how their creativity unfolds. But, in my experiences, I've found that there are, generally, five phases we go through to get from the start to the end of any creative project. Watch this short video to learn about this and more!

THE 5 PHASES OF CREATIVITY*

1. The Conception Phase
2. The Development Phase
3. The Execution Phase
4. The Finalization Phase
5. The Presentation Phase

* One could argue that there are four, five, six or more phases to creativity, based on the individual or group's processes, intent, and content. These five phases are how I have approached my creative processes throughout the years, and what I've taught in the classroom as a basic foundation for helping students initiate a project and see it through to the finish, setting realistic expectations along the way. :)
